Friday's Fave #36

Friday - 10.25.2013

Wow, what a week! Ok what a crazy last couple of weeks... Scratch that! This has been a crazy year! But that's besides the point. So a few weeks ago my bestie No. 2 aka The Cheshire Cat got engaged! Woot Woot! Big congratz! It's been a long time coming and now it's time for parties and dresses and planning.

We actually already found her dress and the bridesmaids dresses, so that big stress has already come and gone. I promise to post pictures after the wedding but I'm sure she doesn't want to ruin the surprises before the fact. The wedding is set for Feb 8th. Funny side note on the date, I have/will have been in 2 weddings thus far in my life, the first one was also on Feb 8th.

Anyway her mom and soon to be mother-in-law are putting on an engagement party this weekend and guess who's helping...

In other news, my dad finally moved out of the house and we moved my brother into the living room so my son has his own room! I know we are a bunch of rednecks and if your just joining me asking why in the world this is a small victory let me fill you in.

At the end of last year my parents house flooded, insurance company paid to have it remolded. Of course, to cut labor cost they did all the work themselves. In the mist of this happening my parents decided they were finally ready to get divorced (it's been a long time coming), so my mom moved in with us. Then as a group we decided it would be best if my hubby and I rented their house till we could afford to buy it from them, under the conditions that while we are renting my mom lives with us. This is the home I grew up in. So we got to pick out all the materials to put into the house like tile, paint carpet, etc. Great right?

Not so much, we (meaning my mom pressured us) jumped the gun and moved out of our perfectly organized home and into hell. AKA my parents home that still had tons of work to be done like oh I don't know a second bathroom and the kitchen floor! They (my parents) still had the garage full of their stuff, 2 huge pods on the driveway with more stuff inside and things have just been chaotic! To top it off my 26 year old brother had never moved out and thought he was grandfathered into this whole deal. Oh and my dad didn't want to leave until all the work was done. Now I love my dad, but morally we don't see eye to eye and I don't want his influence to strongly around my children. And he tends to be on the negative side and that's just bad mojo for anyone!

Soooo yes this is a small victory for the peacefulness of my family that is the family I have started with my husband.

So here's all my self promo crap in a nutshell:

There you have it, let's move on!

I linked up with Lisa-Jo Barker for 5 Minute Friday. For this one she gives you a topic and you have to write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking. So this weeks topic is...

Ok I think this is actually last weeks but how we go anyway.

Laundry...

Curse this word! I feel like laundry is a permanent task in me to do list. I don't mind sorting it, washing it and drying it... No it's folding and putting away that I hate! It's so tedious and daunting. My friends and family no long seem to mind that when you sit on my couch there is extra cushion aka my piles of clean laundry. It's like my couch has throw blankets... in piles... consuming the entire couch. We don't even need closets or dressers, everyone just goes to the couch for clean clothes.

The one thing I hate most about laundry... socks! I don't even do them at all, I just have a basket full of everyone's socks. My mom hates it and has started folding them. More power to her cause lord knows I'll never do them!

So I've seen this photo around and apparently I'm not the only one.  The good diva had the fantastic idea to respond with her excuse and I think it's brilliant! I'm coming off a 2 day go at counting calories and decided I love food far to much to diet! So here you go Diva add this to your list!

I've had 3 kids, I barely have time to shower let alone exercise and most importantly I really LOVE food!
