37 Weeks - Bun in The Oven

Saturday - 3.30.2013

Make sure you tune in Wednesday for the family photo shoot!

Development: Little missy weighs about 6 1/3 pounds and measures a bit over 19 inches, head to heel like a stalk of Swiss chard. Which sounds about right, at me last visit the midwife said she's probably in the high 5's low 6's already. Which seems huge to me, because my other two weren't that big.

Movement: She's head down and little legs are going strong! She's still favoring the right side and bruising the crap out of my ribs.

Weight Gain: I think their scales are off, because they still say I've only gained 12 pounds. I know I'm the one everyone hates. This is the only part though that women can hate me for because the rest of my pregnancy has been miserable! My last two pregnancy were this way two though, I just look like I'm smuggling a basketball under my shirt.

Best Moment: Ultrasound! Get this she has teeth already! What?!?! I know! That's a profile shot over there on the left and you see those two little white oval dots right next to each other, those are teeth! Must be all the tums I have to eat for heartburn!

Sleep: Been sleeping a little bit better, my hubby got my a giant triangle wedge so I can sleep at a higher incline and keep the acid down. Oh I can't wait to sleep flat again. I would much rather be woken up by a hungry baby than have a stiff non-stop hurting body. (remind me I said that when I'm complaining about being up all night with this little girl!)

Miss Anything: Going out with my friends, getting to enjoy myself, dress up cute and without being exhausted or hurting.

Food Cravings: Salad! What is going on here! I just want salad! My favorite salads are from Olive Garden, Panera Bread, Daphne's and Stonefire Grill. I could eat salads from those places for breakfast, lunch and dinner! There must be something wrong with me, I'm a burger girl! I love me some meat, but lately I just can't get enough salad!

Symptoms: Got the heartburn under control for the most part now. Have to take a Zantac in the morning and at night, but I'm still eating Tums like they are going to save my life. The pelvic pain is still there and worries me that I may have a harder time recovering after the baby is born this time. I hope I can walk! I'm trying to stay positive so I can combat the irritability but it's an everyday battle!

Labor Signs: Really contractions for 4 months and now nothing! What a stubborn kid already! I'm still having small, inconstant contractions but that's it. I am dilated to one, whoa hoo!

Mood: I'm ready!

Friday's Fave #20

Friday - 3.29.2013

So here we are Friday again. It's funny the weeks fly by but the day's crawl. Guess that's what happens when your so close to the end of a nine month waiting game. 3 weeks till my due date and I'm so ready to go! Nesting has been completed, everything is set up and ready for her. Well tomorrow I'll post more in my Bun in The Over update.

Remember the remodel going on at my parents house? So the house has been completely gutted: tile carpet, drywall and the kitchen are completely GONE! It's the strangest thing walking into the house I grew up in and just nothing. For those of you just reading about this, here's the short story. My parents house had a pipe burst about a month ago and completely flood the entire house. The insurance is paying for everything to be remodeled which is really awesome because my parents wanted to sell but couldn't afford to fix it up enough. So now my hubby and I are thinking about buy it after it's remodeled. So we picked out molding this week as well as had the carpenter come by to see what we want to do in the kitchen. I've never been so excited about things like pantries and spice racks. I love to cook so this is my favorite part so far.

Ok here's the regular weekly stuff. I'm really hittin this site hard, I'm back into Coastal Vacation and have the site all set up, if your interest check out the Make Money page. I'm promoting a ton of giveaways right now and have a few blogger opps too! If you haven't already, go link up over on Tuesday's Tea Party or even better sign-up to co-host!

I joined up with Dawn's Desaster for FTSF, so get over there and link up! This week's sentence...

If I could hang out with any celebrity, it would be Christina Applegate. I've always thought she is gorgeous  but more then that I'm fascinated with the roles she choose to accept. She just seems like a very real person, not letting fame go to her head or make her act crazy. I have read that she is extremely smart with a very high IQ and that she chooses the roles she does to challenge herself. She just seems like she would be fun without getting in too much trouble. So who would you choose?

OMG Becky this blog is so stinkin cute. Meredith at The Southern Northerner just cracks me up. I love the little character she drew of herself and all the little situation said character finds herself in. Anyway she fun and real, so head over and show her some love!

This post means a lot to me. I view my marriage as the best thing to ever happen to me. Most of my readers know I'm on my 4th marriage, but that it's not because I didn't take my other marriages seriously but because of circumstances. My 1st was killed in a car accident, my 2nd was a big mistake as of being momentarily insane from losing my first and my 3rd cheated on me repeatedly. So now the love of my life and father to all my children (blood or not) has my heart, I consider my marriage to him a life long commitment that nothing can break. I really appreciate her post because marriage is a serious commitment that most young ones these days don't take seriously enough.

36 Weeks - Bun in the Oven

Saturday - 3.23.2013

We are in the safe zone people! This could be my last update, I am going to be running and jumping my way to labor from here on out! So glad I made Iit to this point, there were a few times there I wasn't sure we'd make it this far.

Development: Miss thing is still packing on the pounds - at the rate of about an ounce a day. She now weighs almost 6 pounds (like a crenshaw melon) and is more than 18 1/2 inches long.

Movement: She's Running out of room, but thinks she can still go wwherever she want! My ribs and hip bone on the right side are completely bruised.

Weight Gain: When I went a week n a half ago I had gained 12 pounds. Im right on track for my 20 pounds I typically gain when im pregnant. However this time it went to other places other than the baby.

Best Moment: My baby shower! My mother threw me a killer Wonderland Theme shower.

Sleep: We got a king size mattress and bed! Yeah its been great.

Miss Anything: My energy!

Food Cravings: Smoothies!

Symptoms: Still very irritable, but hopefully it will calm down once she's here.

Labor Signs: Still good, just gotta make it 2 more weeks and I'm in the safe zone!

Mood: Been a little emotional, but still keep things positive!

Friday's Fave #19 & FTSF

Friday - 3.22.2013

Wow what a wild ride the last few weeks have been. Witnessed a birth (not my own, darnit), had my crazy wonderland baby shower (pictures to come) and had a taste of what it will be like with two little ones in the house, while I babysat my 2 year old neice for three days.

I also designed 2 blogs this week, where I got the time for that, don't ask! They were for two totally different taste and ironically for two new bloggers. One for Jolene at Wow Then and Now and one for Kim at Being Blissfully Blind. Go check them out, lots of little details and I'm just so proud of how they turned out. And of course if your interested in making over your blog, check out my design site Bombshells Designs!

So you may have noticed but probably not, that my menu has changed a little bit. I'm gearing up for more reviews and giveaways as I am starting to be contacted more and more for this kind of stuff. I'm also re-starting up a business I was doing before with Coastal Vacations, if you want to see what it's all about see the Make Money page. I'm promoting a ton of giveaways right now and have blogger opps coming out my ying/yang! If you haven't already, go link up over on Tuesday's Tea Party or even better sign-up to co-host!

Remember I told you about FTSF? Ok if not it's this great little blog hop that gives you a start of a sentence and then you finish it by writing your own story. Want to in the fun? Head over to Dawn's Desaster and link up! This week's sentence...

One time when I was bored out of my mind, I was probably a kid. Honestly I wish I could remember the last time I was bored out of my mind. As I mother I think I forgot what it's like to be bored. Now a days if there is truly nothing for me to do, which lets face it is never, I usually catch a nap or catch up on blogging. I can tell you this though if I'm left alone for to long, I usually chop of all my hair, dye it some funky color, go get pampered or find a friend to go out with. But bored, I can't say I've been bored out of my mind since I was a kid and in which case would always lead to trouble!

It's Me Again Pamela

It's Me Again... Pamela is a cute little blog I have been following for a while. She has such a simple way of about her that I just love reading her stuff. I particularly love her posts about what she loves about her hubby and I think I might barrow the idea. Go check her out you will be glad you did!

I love this post. I can completely relate. After being a teenage mom, divorced twice and being widowed, I had to learn to let go of perfection. Jenn perfectly sums up how I have been trying to live me life, it's just perfectly okay if everything isn't perfect! Kuddos Jenn, if you figured out this much you know your on the path to a much ahppier life. Glad I read this post and look forward to more of them from you.

Taking the Taste of Miami Back Home (Guest Post)

Thursday - 3.21.2013

Guest Post by Kendra Thornton

Some of the best memories I have from my past are when my husband and I ventured to Miami. When our stay at the fabulous Fontainebleau, ranked amongst some of the top hotels in Miami, came to an end I really didn't want to leave. I wanted to take some of those memories and the spirit of our fabulous trip back home with me to share with my family and friends.
It just so happened that I had this decadent dessert during my trip to Miami and I wouldn’t leave the restaurant until I got the recipe! I was so happy that I took it home and hope you are able to enjoy this treat just as much as my family and I do. I have found that some of the best memories I have from my travels come from the conversations and laughter over a great meal. This easy to make Key Lime Pie is worth it!
Key Lime Pie Recipe:

Start with the crust:

Melt about 1/4 cup of butter, or enough to make your crust stick together. Crush between six and nine graham crackers, depending on the size of your pie plate, into fine crumbs. Mix with the butter and throw in a pinch of sugar. You only want enough sugar to make a little bit sweet. Then press the crust mixture into your pie plate and bake for about 10 minutes at 350ºF. Let it cool to room temperature.

For the filling:

3 egg yolks (no whites)
1 to 2 cans sweetened condensed milk, depending on size of the pie shell
1 cup or more key lime juice, again depending on size of pie shell

Beat the egg yolks together until smooth and blend well with the sweetened condensed milk. You won't ever need two full cans, so I save the extra from the second can for other baking. Sometimes I make two Key Lime Pies at once, using three cans of milk. Stir in a little key lime juice at a time until it tastes just right. Be sure to put in enough to give it a little tart kick.

Pour the filling into the pie shell. Preheat your oven and bake the pie at 325ºF for 20-25 minutes. Be very careful not to overcook it. Cool your pie on a rack for 10-15 minutes. Then refrigerate until ready to serve. Do your best not to eat it all at once!
