Friday's Fave #31

Friday - 8.30.2013

Helloooooooooo Adventueres!

I am just pumped, it's Friday, the sun is shining and life is grand. Well in my own head it is. I have decided that even though the reality of my situation is that it sucks, I'm going to have a positive mental attitude and be thankful for what do have and just find thing to be positive about everyday!

Have I mentioned how much I LOVE Empower Network! I have been blogging over there (on the platform they give you when you sign up for all the amazing network training) all about the awesome stuff I have been learning about making money online, check it out ====> HERE! I'm offering a complimentary vacation to EVERYONE who joins my team! Find out more ====> HERE!

Ok so this week I have disciplined myself to a schedule. Everything is on the schedule, I find being organized helps me accomplish more in a more effective manner. My son started blogging! It's a project he and I are doing and so far it's a HUGE success! Go show him so love at The Misadventures of The March Hare.

Got the usual stuff - check out all the giveaways and blogger opps I'm promoting. Oh yeah I'm starting a fun new monthly contest called Follow The White Rabbit, starting in September. Make sure you subscribe to the right news feed to receive weekly updates, sign up for 1 or all 3:

Remember you can receive a complimentary vacation just for checking out my business opportunity! And as usual, my blogging buddies should go link up over on Tuesday's Tea Party or even better sign-up to co-host!

I linked up with Lisa-Jo Barker for 5 Minute Friday. For this one she gives you a topic and you have to write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking. So this weeks topic is...

Worship...

When I hear that word my brain automatically thinks of worship to God. Mmm touchy subject I know, but I love God and he's in everything I do, so I can't help but associate that word with him.

I choose to worship him as HE wants not as I see fit. He lays out clearly in his Word how he wants to be worshiped and yet so many neglect to read into the deeper things. They pick and choose the commandment and principles they will obey and then say God love me just the way I am. No he doesn't! Read more of your Bible and it say's clearly that in times past God destroyed those who didn't hold closely to his requirements!

In the past, I didn't always worship him in a way that was pleasing to him and learned the hard way that his way is the happiest way to live! Yes he is forgiving and loving if WE choose to follow his guidelines. And his guidelines are not harsh or mean, they are a protection. Do not fornicate, hmm how many things does that protect us from, unwated pregnancy, STD's, lose of innocents, feelings of guilt, feelings of unworthiness, broken up marriages and lack of commitment. That's just one commandment! There are countless other that serve as a protection.

People want to be happy and yet I'd say a good portion of the world is not. Oh but, we're doing things our way and living without the rules or commandments, so then, why aren't you happy? Could it be because the creator of all things including US, knows what makes us happy and yet most refuse to implicate his perfect plan of action. Just a thought.

What a great list of thing to tell a teen girl, that is if she will listen! I know I did most of the things on this list and wish I knew better. Now I do but why did I have to learn the hard way?!?! I'd like to say I wish someone had warned me, but I'm sure they did and I was just to smart for that kind of advice. Never the less this is all good advice!

Stop acting like a girl!

Thursday - 8.29.2013

When I was young my dad always told me I was the boy he always wanted, even though I have a younger brother. He would add, that our sex organs got switched at birth... again even though we are 3 year apart. The point is I acted more like a boy and my brother... well lets just say he picked up where I lack in femininity. Now that we are adults however, we have grown into our property sexes.

My son reminds me of my brother. Even more now because we are one big unhappy family under one roof! I find myself constantly calling him by my brothers name. His voice, his mannerisms and his need to be annoying just get under my skin because I feel like I'm fighting with my little brother all over again.

With that, I feel like my son acts like a girl sometimes! He's 11 and we have hit the age that I like to refer to as "The Diva" years. If something doesn't go his way he throws a giant, 2 year old fit about it, even small, uncontrollable stuff. And such a big fit that I'm left there rolling my jaw up off the floor because I can't believe my eyes.

How did this happen? I'm not like that. I don't cry when I'm told no. Granted I do cry, but usually over being stressed out, not over being told no or because things don't go my way. So where on earth did he get this from??? Then I think back to my brother and it hits me. That's where he gets it, my brother!

So my question is how do I stop it!!!! How do I teach him, other than what I doing which is ignoring the behavior, that he needs to act like a man about things? My husband is the epitome of manly and I just pray that 7 years of being raised by women can be over come by my husbands influence. If this is what teenage years have in store for me, I don't know that I'll last.

I find that I just stare at my son with the most complex look on my face, when he starts cry (yes tears and all) and yelling "why me" when I tell him he can't play on my tablet that I use for work. Please lord let him grow out of this quickly!

Please if anyone else is or has experienced this, what can I do about it? Am I the only one that feel like my son is on his period?

 WW: NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT!!

Wednesday - 8.28.2013

If your on Pinterest, no doubt you have seen your fair share of thngs that make you say "I never thought of that." Well here are a few handy ones. Let me know if any of them work! ;)

You can flip a toaster on its side and grill cheese in it.

If you place a wooden spoon over a pot of boiling water, it won't boil over!

Marshmallows can cure a sore throat. Perfect for kids who don't like medicine. Really?

Cereal canisters make the perfect rubbish bin for your car!

Peppers with 3 bumps on the bottom are sweeter and better for eating. Peppers with 4 bumps on the bottom are stronger flavored.

Add a teaspoon of water when frying minced beef. It will help pull the grease away from the meat while cooking.

Use a (clean) dustpan to fill a container that doesn’t fit in the sink.

Place a rubber band around an open paint can to wipe your brush on, and keep paint off the side of the can.

Use a staple remover to save your fingernails when trying to add things to your key ring!

My kids crack me up!

Saturday - 8.24.2013

Since I've made this commitment to myself and secretly to my kids to be a better, calmer and more loving, attentive mom, I have been noticing how funny the can be. A few days ago I had the following conversation with them, that just cracked me up.

First with the March Hare.

He asked me if he can go to school early the next day. School starts at 8:15 am and they aren't allowed to be on campus before 7:45 am, which is also the time I allow him to leave the house. He rides his bike to school which takes exactly 1 minute from our house, literately I can hear the school bells ring from inside my house, that's how close we are to the school.

Anyway he asked me if he can leave before 7:45 am and the conversation went something like this:

MH: Mom, can I leave early tomorrow for school?

Me: What on earth do you need to be at school that early for?

MH: My principle asked me to be there early to help her with something. (I raise my eyebrow at him) No really, she asked me and a few other boys to come early.

Me: (I know my son to well and at this point I know this is not the complete truth) Why would she ask you to be on campus earlier than they allow students on campus? Why didn't she send home a note asking if you could come in early?

MH: Please mom?!?

Me: No, I don't think you need to be there any earlier than you're already getting there. As it is that's a half hour before school starts.

MH: What's the problem with getting there early?

Me: To much free, unsupervised time alone for you to get into trouble.

MH: (At this point he's pitching a fit) How do you know I'm going to get into trouble!?!

Me: You'll understand when your older.

The funniest part to this whole conversation was my mom was standing in the hallway listening and walked in laughing wickedly. She said she remembered telling me the same thing because I went to the same school. Great I'm turning into my mother!

Then later that night I had this little convo with the Dormouse:

She's sitting on my bed, I'm in the bathroom brushing my hair. Out of no where she say's "Mommy, tomorrow can I go snowboarding?"

I was a little thrown off, as she's only 3 3/4 and she's never even been to the snow. Sad I know! Oh and we are at the tomorrow and yesterday stage, yeah all her stories happened yesterday and everything she wants to do is happening tomorrow. Anyway, I respond with the usual "Sure hunny whatever you want."

Than she say's "Mommy can I use your snowboard?"

Priceless!

Friday's Fave #30

Friday - 8.23.2013

Good morning adventurers! So glad you are joining me on this beautiful day! It's sunny and hot already here in Cali! I got to hang out with the White Rabbit this week. It was so nice to have lunch and go get mani/pedi's together, even if we did have 3 of the kids with us. Yes being mom's doesn't stop us two life long buddies from doing fun things. Well, I'm keeping it short in sweet this week because I'm off to spend the day with my chicklets and have lunch with the long lost Cheshire Cat.

I know you guys are going to get tired of hearing about Empower Network, but EVERY blogger needs to sign up with them if you want to learn how to successfully make money blogging. I have been applying what I'm learning not just in my blogging life, but in every aspect of my life and I can feel the positive energy in world sky rocketing! This is worth it, if you want to be happy, successful and a better over all person and blogger! Here's a blog post I wrote over on about them and another one I wrote on the platform they provide, about mindset.

I'm getting back in the swing of things and I have decided to sign up to promote one giveaway a day, so check out what I've got going on here: giveaways and blogger opps.

Last...

Doesn't it seem like there is always one last thing you have to do before... It never fails, I'm always trying to finish one last blog post, one last HTML code, one last... by the time I actually finish that one last thing, three hours have gone by and I haven't actually finished, I just got side tracked and forgot. And by the time I realize it, the hubby is sleeping and I can barely keep my eye open. Kind of like tonight and last night and the night before that. Will that one last thing ever be finished?

I need to stick to a plan of action, that way there are no more one last, side track, completely of the track things to do! I just do the things I set ouut to do in the time frame I've allowed for it and that it. No more one last thing, alas that would be a perfect world and we are far from living in one.

This is a pretty funny post! Men are big babies when it comes to being sick and why must everything be a competition?!?! Even being sick. I swear men would never survive if they had to carry the babies! Well go read all about this couples battle of the sickest!
